!Set in NCIS season 13 and is pre-infinity war!

“Crapcrapcrapcrap!” Special agent Percy Jackson muttered under his breath. Percy closed his eyes and opened them again, hoping more than anything that this was a nightmare. Nope. No such luck.

Sighing, Percy shifted his knees again on the cold ground and wrapped his jacket tighter against his friends body, holding him close.

He and his best friend -Special Agent Anthony Dinozzo- decided that they could spare one day to go on a fishing trip. A bit old-fashioned? Definitely. But hey, beats going to laser tag with McGee and his geek buddies. But alas, they could break every single law except Murphy’s. As soon as they had reached the dock, they found out that their boat’s engine had stopped working. They then decided to drive back to D.C but nope somebody forgot to fill the tank. And Percy will not admit to anything! And on top of all that, Tony had declared the trip a no-phone trip so calling someone was out of question too.

Feeling defeated they both had spent a freezing night sleeping on the rough wood of the boat. The next morning, Percy woke up to Tony yelling and writhing in pain. Apparently, during the night a snake had bit him. The puncture wound was puffy red and swollen and noting how Tony’s face contorted in discomfort and pain every 2 seconds, Percy could safely assume that the snake was poisonous.

So he half dragged half carried an unconscious Tony for miles until he reached the main road, which is how he ended up leaning against a tree trunk, Tony slumped against him, wrapped in Percy’s jacket, while the man himself shivered. Since there was nothing else to do other than wait, Percy closed his eyes and prayed. He prayed to every God he knew, hell he prayed to every God he didn’t know, just for someone to drive past them.

Well, he must have been praying really hard, because merely 20 minutes later he heard the whoosh of a car stopping in front of them.

Now Tony Stark didn’t make it a habit to take his interns on fishing trips but for Peter he would make an exception, because damn that kid was so much more than an intern. And Tony was extremely proud of the person Peter had become, not that he had the courage to tell Peter that.

Feelings aside, Tony softly hummed along with the music playing in the car, while Peter rambled on about a science project that most kids his age wouldn’t have been able understand.

“Mr. Stark!” Peter suddenly yells, pointing out to 2 slumped figures leaning against a bark. Tony’s eyes widened and he quickly stopped the car and got out. “Stay here” he told Peter. Tony jumped out and ran towards the 2 men. It was really sad that even after so long Tony still thought Peter would actually listen. Peter followed.

The younger man’s eyes snapped open. “Oh thank Gods! I thought nobody was ever going to drive past!” he said in relief.

Tony frowned. “What happened? Is he hurt?”. He gestured to the guy’s unconscious companion.

“Yeah” replied Percy. “A snake bit him, it’s definitely poisonous. Would’ve gotten him to the hospital but I don’t have phone or a car”.

“Alright” said Tony (Stark), taking charge. “Come on. Help me get…”

“Tony” the guy replied.

Tony blinked in surprise. “Okay. Help me get Tony into the car.”

Nodding quickly, the guy helped put his friend in the backseat and then turned to Tony. “Thank you…?”

“Tony Stark, nice to meet you”

The guy smirked and replied “Thank you ‘Tony Stark, nice to meet you’. I’m Percy. Could you drop us off at the nearest hospital please? I can get our usual hospital to send medical records over”

“Sure” Tony said and then yelled at Peter who still stood outside the car. “I told you not to get out underoos!”

Blushing Peter got in the front seat with a “Sorry Mr. Stark”, only looking back to mutter “’Names Peter” at Percy.

Halfway into their journey Tony (Dinozzo)’s body convulsed, and foam started to pour out his mouth.

“Go faster dammit!” Percy yelled at his driver, panic seizing him.

He put Tony’s head on his lap and muttered a steady stream of comforting words in his ear.

Now, Tony Stark prided himself to be able to keep his cool in the most bizarre situations but when the other Tony started coughing, these wrenched sounds escaping his throat, he floored it.

The next hour was a blur to Percy. He remembered reaching the hospital and rushing in, demanding a doctor. Once the doctor arrived, the medical staff whisked Tony away so fast that his head spun. He remembered signing a few things and then Peter coaxing him to sit down in the waiting room while Stark went hunting for coffee and blankets.

Wrapping his fingers around the warm mug, Percy took strength from the heat. He looked up at Tony Stark and gave a small smile in appreciation. The hot brew somewhat cleared his mind and made his thoughts easier to process.

“How long has it been?” He asked Tony, who took a seat beside him.

“About an hour and a half”

Percy’s eyes widened. An hour and a half!? “They shouldn’t be there that long! What are they-“

“Hey calm down alright? The doctors know what they’re doing” Stark assured Percy.

“I’m sorry I just-“ Percy trailed off waving his hands in a frenzy and laughing nervously.

“I know” replied Tony.

Finally, the doctor came and stood in front of them “I am delighted to let you know that Mr. Dinozzo will make a full recovery. The snake was poisonous but only so after the poison reaches the blood stream around the heart. Luckily, you had bought him here just in time for us to stop it. Are you Mr. Jackson?”

When Percy nodded, she continued, “Right. While Mr. Dinozzo will make a full recovery, the hypothermia affected his scared lungs quite a bit. I’m afraid he’ll have to cut down strenuous activity for atleast a month and keep his inhaler on him at all times. We are just clearing up but you will be see him in another 5 minutes, although he is currently unconscious” She gave them a polite smile then scurried off again.

Relief tore throughout Percy’s body as his knees buckled. Slumping in his chair, Percy bowed his head and stared at his hands and wondered when they had started to shake.

Seeing where Percy was looking Tony said, “It’s better they’re shaking afterward then during”.

Percy’s soft smile turned into a terrified one as he heard a voice calling him, “PERCY JACKSON! WHERE ARE YOU? HOW DARE YOU NOT CALL ME?! BURT AND I WERE SO WORRIED AND-“
